A group born from one woman's experience — and a deep desire that no one else has to walk that road alone.
The Choice I Had to Make
One of the biggest and most common roadblocks in recovery from a substance use disorder is our friend group.
When I was in active addiction, most of the people I spent time with were also actively using. Once I made the decision to live sober, continuing to surround myself with those same influences would have created a major obstacle to my recovery and greatly increased my chances of relapse.
I had to make the choice to be very lonely — because I knew my only chance of avoiding relapse was to sever all connections with my current friends. The only friends I had were ones who were addicts, but none of them were ready for recovery.
I don't want other women to have to make the choice I did just to stay active in their recovery. This group is for women to make connections and friendships with others who are in recovery.

What We're Building Together
The goal is to create new friendships and connections that inspire recovery instead of relapse. I want people to discover that life with a substance use disorder under control can be happy, fulfilling, and genuinely FUN.
I'd love for others to experience real joy and authentic fun — not the temporary, artificial kind that depends on substances — while building strong, supportive relationships with others who understand the journey.
Fighting the Boredom Trigger
Another huge trigger for relapse is boredom. It certainly was for me, and at times still can be. Being part of a group that plans activities and spends time together can help combat that struggle. Make connections at events, plan to get together outside of our monthly gatherings, or simply find a new friend you can call or text when life gets difficult. Sometimes having someone who understands can make all the difference.
